The DCS is a practitioner-based research doctorate. Your dissertation investigates a real technical problem from your own workplace, so your day job and your research strengthen each other. Most candidates study alongside full-time work.
It follows a different model from a campus PhD, which centres on a standalone academic question. If a specific type of qualification is needed for a role, confirm that first.
Two examples of how this works in practice:
The European Institute of Management & Technology (EIMT) is a Swiss institution based in Cham/Zug, Switzerland, focused on management and technology education for working professionals. EIMT teaches, assesses and awards the degree. Edzip guides you from admission to graduation through its guidance services in Qatar.
Edzip Education is a Doha-based online degree platform offering programs designed for real career advancement: industry-relevant options that build practical knowledge, strengthen professional expertise and prepare you for greater career opportunities.

Disciplines covered: ICT; applied physics and mathematics; environmental science; biotechnology and life sciences; materials science; healthcare technology; data science; renewable energy; agricultural science and food technology; space science and aerospace.
A doctorate in computer science can support senior technical and research-oriented roles, such as principal engineer, head of data or AI, security architect or applied researcher. Your research project builds on your own workplace, so it also documents your depth in your specialism.
Some graduates move towards teaching or advisory work. Academic posts set their own entry rules, so check them with the employer or regulator in advance.
Your results depend on your experience, your specialism and the roles you target. The programme does not guarantee a promotion, salary rise or job.
A master's degree, or a Level 7 certification with 5 or more years of related field experience.
Degree certificate and transcripts (or Level 7 certificate and evidence of 5+ years' experience), passport copy, professional CV and a preliminary statement of research interest.
Admission works without GMAT, GRE or language tests. GMAT or GRE scores can be submitted voluntarily to strengthen a scholarship application.
